Registered Nurse - ICU

Full-time, Night Shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in a mixed acuity ICU and progressive care unit.
  • Care for ventilated patients, including initiating and titrating IV vasopressors, sedatives, and paralytics.
  • Assist with invasive procedures such as intubations and line placements.
  • Monitor and assess patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia.
  • Utilize medical equipment such as Phillips heart monitors, Epic EMR, Pyxis, EKG machines, and dopplers.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care while adhering to unit protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Indiana RN license.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
  • Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications.
  • Strong background in medical-surgical and critical care nursing.
  • Ability to think critically, adapt to changing situations, and work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience caring for ventilated and critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment.
  • Comfortable with equipment use including infusion monitoring and invasive procedures.
  • Prior experience in a mixed acuity ICU and progressive care setting.

Additional Details:

  • Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, with weekend rotations. Weekend-only or traditional rotations available.
  • Float requirement: Staff may be floated to other ICUs and medical units as needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios.
  • Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs, with black, white, or Caribbean blue jackets; optional undershirts in black or white.
  • Orientation includes policy review, EPIC training, and one day of unit-specific onboarding.
