Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient behavioral health care for pediatric patients in a licensed psychiatric facility.
• Support patient safety through medication administration, restraint protocols, and crisis intervention.
• Utilize therapeutic approaches including de-escalation, behavior management, and psychoeducation.
• Collaborate within a team to manage patient needs across various units while adhering to facility protocols.
• Document patient observations and care activities accurately using electronic health records.
• Follow mandated certifications and safety procedures including trauma-informed care and suicide prevention training.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or pediatric psychiatric nursing.
• Mandatory MANDT patient restraint certification (training provided if not currently certified).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Missouri Children's Division background check clearance.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with children and adolescents in various treatment settings, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, or forensic environments.
• Knowledge of treating disorders such as anxiety, bipolar, suicidal behavior, psychosis, and trauma-related conditions.
• Familiarity with emergency procedures including CPR, chemical restraints, and physical holds.
• Ability to work effectively in a trauma-informed, patient-centered care environment.
