- Full-time, 13-week contract, hospital-based, daytime shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery in a sterile operating room environment
- Assist in a variety of cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgeries, valve replacements, and vascular interventions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes promptly
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, infection control procedures, and surgical protocols
- Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing, including adult open heart cases
- Experience with endovascular cases such as TAVR and vascular surgeries
- Competency in using Meditech EMR system
- Ability to work rotating call shifts, including weekends
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in trauma, vascular, or neuro surgery
- Familiarity with advanced OR equipment such as robotic surgical systems, hybrid vascular room technologies, and laparoscopic tools
- Flexibility to work in different operating room settings and assist in various procedures
- Willingness to help mentor new staff and assist with extra hours when needed
