Location: Sitka, AK

Schedule / Job Type: Days, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessment, administration, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments, including pulmonary function testing, airway management, and ventilatory support for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret pulmonary tests, arterial blood gases, and respiratory treatments.
• Provide patient education on the use of respiratory therapy equipment, inhalation gases, and related therapies.
• Maintain and care for all respiratory equipment used for treatments and testing.
• Perform procedures such as extubations, airway management, and ventilator management, including emergency resuscitations.
• Support other staff and contribute to the overall respiratory care operations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within three months of hire.
• Clinical competency assessment required within three months and every three years.
• High-Risk Competency required within three months and annually.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Proficiency in mechanical ventilator use and interpretation of arterial blood gases.
• Ability to work independently and handle adverse conditions involving infectious diseases.
• Knowledge of respiratory modalities for all age groups, including neonatal care.
