Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location
• Salem, VA

Schedule / Job Type
• Travel, 13-week contract, Night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient vitals.
• Complete procedures such as IV placements, EKGs, and medication mixing.
• Utilize EMR systems for documentation and medication scanning.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Adhere to unit policies and maintain compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Required Qualifications
• Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years ER nursing experience.
• Independent IV insertion, EKG, and assessment skills.
• Prior experience in a freestanding emergency department is preferred.
• Ability to independently mix pharmacy drugs such as TPA and KCentra.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience working in a freestanding ER setting.
• Strong team player with outgoing and independent personality traits.
