Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac step-down patients during 36-hour workweeks, primarily on day shifts.
- Assist with post-operative open-heart patients, cardiac drips, and heart cath recovery.
- Cover one holiday per schedule cycle and work every third weekend, with flexibility based on census and staffing needs.
- Float to other units as needed during low volume periods or staffing shortages, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and documentation requirements, including Epic EMR usage.
- Maintain compliance with BLS and ACLS certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac step-down nursing experience.
- Experience with open-heart surgery patients, ventilator management, and cardiac drug infusions.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with heart cath recovery and cardiac postoperative care.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating census and staffing changes.
- Strong critical thinking and patient management skills.
