Key Responsibilities

• Assess and triage antepartum patients over 20 weeks, utilizing obstetric triage acuity tools.
• Perform labor assessment, fetal evaluation, and monitor for signs of labor or pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, and decreased fetal movement.
• Stabilize emergency medical conditions related to obstetric and fetal emergencies, preparing patients for delivery or transfer as needed.
• Provide comprehensive intrapartum care, including fetal monitoring, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, magB sulfate, antibiotics), and prepping patients for scheduled or emergency cesarean sections.
• Conduct postpartum and newborn assessments, including newborn stabilization, medication administration, and assisting with procedures like circumcisions and lab draws.
• Support neonatal care, including administering medications, managing hypoglycemia, phototherapy, and handling critically ill newborns for transport.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years current obstetric nursing experience.
• Valid RN license in the state of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
• NRP certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Ability to pass BCA testing upon assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic health record experience (training provided if needed).
