Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized surgical support across multiple disciplines, including General, ENT, Endoscopic, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Plastic Surgery, Trauma, and Urology procedures.
• Assist during complex surgeries such as craniotomies, laparoscopic and open procedures, amputations, and trauma-related interventions.
• Operate and maintain surgical instrumentation, including drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources.
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques, universal protocols, and safety standards throughout all procedures.
• Float within scope of practice to meet department needs and support different surgical teams.
• Participate in weekend on-call rotations as required.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of surgical technologist experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.
• Experience in general, trauma, teaching hospitals, and Level I trauma centers.
• Ability to assist with a wide range of surgical procedures, including ENT, endoscopy, general, gynecologic, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology cases.
• Willingness to work days, weekends (once a month), and on-call as needed.
• Must be within 50+ miles of Springfield, IL, and available to arrive 3 business days prior to compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and supplies used in diverse surgical specialties.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience in a teaching hospital and trauma center environment.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system and acute care hospital procedures.
• Experience with complex ENT, endoscopic, and trauma cases.
