Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, monitoring patients' conditions and administering treatments.
• Manage patients with multiple co-morbidities, including neuro/stroke care, wound care, and feeding tube management.
• Perform specialized tasks such as administering blood products, accessing ports, managing IVs and central lines, and maintaining isolation precautions.
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring systems and perform on-unit telemetry assessments.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining compliance with infection control protocols and patient care standards.
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital inpatient setting.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring, including remote and on-unit assessments.
• Proficiency in feeding tube care, vascular access, port management, and start IVs.
• Ability to follow isolation protocols and wound care procedures with wound vac management.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working with stroke/neuro patient populations.
• Experience managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 in a busy inpatient environment.
• Flexibility to float between all Cone Health facilities as needed.
