Registered Nurse - NICU

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a 64-bed NICU environment.
• Manage complex cases involving preterm newborns (23–40 weeks gestation) with a focus on stabilization and ongoing monitoring.
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and patient records management.
• Administer medications via Pyxis system and operate NICU-specific equipment including incubators, warmer units, monitors, ventilators, and IV pumps.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and respond to critical situations in a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital.
• Follow unit protocols and procedures, including patient assessments, interventions, and documentation compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Active AR license or Compact license eligible.
• 2+ years of neonatal ICU experience.
• BLS (AHA approved) and NRP certifications.
• Must have STABLE certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR and NICU equipment.
• Ability to work night shifts (7p-7a).
• Live at least 100 miles from the facility.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Level 1 trauma experience.
• Experience with ventilators, incubators, monitors, and IV pumps in a NICU setting.
• Prior travel experience preferred.

Note: This position requires rotating holidays and every other weekend commitment. Candidates must complete a two to three-day orientation, including hospital and unit-specific training.
