Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality nursing care to laboring patients and new mothers in a busy maternity unit.
• Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs using advanced electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
• Assist during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, neonatal, and hospitalist staff.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital protocols on medication administration, patient assessments, and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
• Valid and current Registered Nurse licensure in Texas (or appropriate state).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
• Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN preferred).
• Experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Ability to work night shifts and handle a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with Cesarean section circulation.
• Skilled in placing FSE and IUPC.
• Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records systems such as Meditech or Centricity.
