Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

• Blacksburg, VA

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, day shifts, hospital-based

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ER environment
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, perform procedures such as breathing treatments, apply oxygen delivery devices, and provide conscious sedation as needed
• Document patient information accurately using the hospital’s Meditech electronic documentation system
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices in emergency care
• Maintain certification requirements (BLS, ACLS, PALS); NRP preferred but not required

Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Ability to work 3-12 hour shifts per week and weekend shifts
• Strong clinical skills in emergency care procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience working in an emergency department or fast-paced acute care setting
• Familiarity with hospital equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and glucometers
• Knowledge of Meditech or similar documentation systems
• NRP certification is a plus
