Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments on each patient and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications or delegate administration to licensed practical nurses (LPNs).
• Perform or supervise nursing interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Advocate for patients, evaluate responses to treatments, and adjust care plans as needed.
• Provide health education to patients and their families or caregivers, including blood product administration.
• Supervise LPNs and ER Technicians to ensure quality patient care.
• Deliver care for trauma patients of all ages.
• Serve as house supervisor during designated shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Communicate effectively with emergency services via two-way radio, including EMS, 911 dispatch, and first responders.
• Assess patient acuity levels and prioritize treatment accordingly.
• Reassess patients periodically for changes in condition until seen in the ER.
• Conduct follow-up calls to patients post-treatment to monitor their condition, per policy.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and stay updated with professional literature.

Required Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license or temporary work permit.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS, PALS, TNS, and TNCC certifications are preferred.
• Clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous emergency room nursing experience.
• Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
