Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient physical therapy services to patients of all ages.
- Develop and modify individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, patient needs, and cultural considerations.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and equipment to support patient recovery and functional improvement.
- Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and their families, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Adhere to professional ethics, patient care standards, and the organizational mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current licensure in good standing as a Physical Therapist in Alaska or eligibility to practice as a Student Physical Therapist with all necessary FSBPT paperwork.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Hospital-based experience with use of modalities such as whirlpools, ultrasound, electric stimulation, and therapeutic exercise equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret medical literature and compose clinical documentation.
- Strong communication skills, including working with culturally diverse populations and non-English speakers.
- Proficiency with MS Office and internet resources for research and documentation.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to adapt treatment strategies as needed.
