Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Monitor patient condition, administer medications, and perform routine procedures
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and high patient turnover on the unit
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or appropriate compact license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Ability to work night shifts and weekends as assigned
- Experience working with adult medical or surgical patients
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous med-surg or step-down care experience
- Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and stable COVID-19 patient management
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of patient satisfaction initiatives
