Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting, utilizing the nursing process during each shift.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care and responses.
• Coordinate care with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure safe, patient-centered, and efficient treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following all policies and protocols.
• Ensure patient and family education needs are met, including discharge planning.
• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Follow protocols and standards for patient safety and quality care.
• Complete procedure-specific and age-specific competency assessments as required by the unit.

Required Qualifications

• Active nursing license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• NIHSS certification.
• Successful passing of onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during first week of assignment.
• Ability to float between departments and locations within 20 miles.
• Minimum two years of current ICU or specialty experience.
• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic health record experience (training available onsite).
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
