Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) following major cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve repairs/replacements, heart and lung transplants.
- Monitor patient conditions closely, ensuring timely interventions and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records using Epic EHR system.
- Comply with all safety and regulatory policies, including UVAs float policy.
- Support schedule flexibility, with every other weekend and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Nursing License (or pending license with submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Epic electronic health record experience
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to flexible scheduling
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a CVICU or cardiac ICU setting
- Strong clinical assessment skills in a critical care environment
