Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate patient data and develop individualized respiratory care plans based on systematic assessments.
• Administer respiratory therapies, oxygen treatments, and medications as prescribed, including setting up and monitoring mechanical ventilators such as BIPAP and CPAP.
• Perform diagnostic and monitoring procedures, including ABGs, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and EKGs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Assess and adjust patient plans of care based on ongoing evaluations, ensuring optimal respiratory health outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication use, and equipment operation, ensuring understanding and safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate and delegate care, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards.

Required Qualifications
• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care or eligible.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in Massachusetts.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Prior respiratory therapy experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with pulmonary procedures including fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
• Familiarity with mechanical ventilator settings and assessments.
• Strong patient education and communication skills.
