Key Responsibilities
- Support the CVOR department as part of a team, working alongside registered nurses and other surgical techs.
- Participate in scheduled team rotations, including on-call duties after shift hours on Fridays through Sundays.
- Work scheduled days from Friday through Monday on an every-other-week (EOW) basis.
- Float to the operating room when volume in CVOR is low, assisting with surgical procedures as needed.
- Assist in the scrub role during procedures; previous first scrub experience is a plus.
- Adhere to hospital policies, including providing support to multiple units as assigned and demonstrating competencies for floating.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA.
- CST FA certification is mandatory.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment.
- Willingness to be on call and float to various hospital units as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in CVOR or operating room support.
- Experience working with travel teams, pairs, or trios is welcomed.
- First scrub experience is a plus.
