Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the operating room during surgical procedures across various specialties, including general, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, trauma, and urology.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Support surgical teams by anticipating needs, handling equipment, and assisting with procedural setups and breakdowns.
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs, including assisting in different surgical units as required.
• Comply with all hospital standards, including radiation safety, sharps safety, and specimen handling.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in surgical technology or operating room assistance.
• BLS certification required; CST preferred.
• Ability to perform various surgical procedures, including ENT, general, gynecology, neurosurgery, oral, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology cases.
• Experience with endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, and PEG tube placement.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and safety protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume surgical environments.
