Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in the Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit and Stepdown units within a comprehensive cancer center.
- Float between Medical/Surgical and Oncology units, including specialized units such as BMT, Leukemia, Hematology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare.
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures, including fall prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Complete bedside orientation and transition to independent nursing practice over the initial weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-acuity PCU or equivalent setting.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
- Ability to work variable weekends based on unit needs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with special procedures relevant to oncology units.
- Strong understanding of infection control and patient safety protocols.
