Key Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care to neuro-med/surg and telemetry patients in a certified stroke center and epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Monitor and assess patients with neuro-related diagnoses, utilizing skills in neurology and telemetry.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Support the hospital's overflow capacity by assisting on various units as needed.
• Perform basic EKG testing and patient assessments to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
• Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols to maintain a high standard of patient care.
Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Experience in neurology and telemetry nursing.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Ability to perform basic EKG testing, with training provided through Prophecy Relias prior to orientation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience working in a certified stroke or epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Flexibility to be pulled to other units based on hospital needs.
