Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including those with congenital heart defects, heart failure, post-transplant, and arrhythmias.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and auxiliary staff.
• Follow strict unit policies including narcotic waste procedures and documentation protocols.
• Support patient and family education, including coordination with Child Life and Education specialists.
• Float within the ICU cluster as needed, including NICU, PICU, and Burn PICU, while maintaining flexibility for various assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Active Arkansas Registered Nurse License or Compact License.
• Minimum of 1 year PEDS CV or 1 year Adult CV, or 2+ years of PEDS/Adult CV nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• EPIC electronic medical record experience.
• Current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications (required before start date).
• Must pass nicotine test and negative nicotine screening.
• Must pass fit test (no facial hair unless for religious reasons) and be able to work with required PPE.
• 3 years of nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric cardiovascular nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with intracardiac lines, VAD, or Impella devices is a plus.
• Experience with ECMO is preferred.
• Ability to work in a trauma and teaching hospital setting.
