Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, rotating block schedule
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric and neonatal patients in a Labor and Delivery unit
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Administer medications including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and pain management options
• Support delivery procedures such as vaginal births, cesarean sections, and assist with forceps or vacuum extractions
• Maintain patient safety, monitor fetal heart rates, and respond to abnormal patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring systems
• Educate new parents on postpartum care, cord care, breastfeeding, and newborn procedures
Required Qualifications
• Active RN license in the state of Connecticut
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related area
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric assessments
• Ability to handle high-acuity obstetric and neonatal cases independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with MediTech or GE Centricity documentation systems
• Knowledge of obstetric emergency protocols such as postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal resuscitation
• Prior experience working with antepartum, labor, and postpartum patients

Additional Notes
• Candidates within 75 miles of Manchester are considered local; those outside this range require consideration of travel accommodations
• Shift details: 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with potential for first-time traveler consideration based on experience
• Documentation systems utilized include Omnicell, MediTech, and GE Centricity; communication predominantly through SBAR
• Scrubs are provided, and necessary equipment and supplies are available on site
