Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients within a busy PICU setting.
  • Monitor and manage patients with congenital heart defects, heart failure, transplants, dysrhythmias, and other critical conditions.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and perform procedures using EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis medication system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support family-centered care, including bedside education and visitation coordination.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Active AR or Compact nursing license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with pediatric CV experience preferred.
  • Current certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS.
  • Negative nicotine test and COVID vaccination not required.
  • Must pass fit test (no facial hair unless for religious reasons).
  • Must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and floating within ICU cluster.
  • Flexibility on holiday work (Christmas, New Year's Eve, or Day).
  • Prior travel experience preferred, with at least one prior travel assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with pediatric cardiac patients and VAD/Impella devices.
  • EPIC EMR proficiency and experience with ECMO management.
  • Ability to handle complex patient population, including neonatal to adult ages.
  • Experience in a trauma 1, teaching hospital environment.

Note: This role involves floating within the ICU cluster, including NICU, PICU, and Burn PICU. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 for ICU and 1:2–3 for intermediate care. No on-call required; scheduled nights only.
