Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health.
- Perform detailed assessments and develop comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being.
- Address a wide range of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders, including motor development, strength, range of motion, balance, gait, and coordination.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve discharge and therapy goals, while advocating for patient independence.
- Provide treatment for pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old, with the flexibility to float to adult units if needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation, interpret data, and ensure adherence to setting regulations.
- Promote patient and caregiver self-determination by utilizing external resources and fostering independence.
- Communicate effectively with all involved care disciplines and supervise other aspects of patient care as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (Doctorate preferred).
- Valid New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure.
- Minimum of one year of inpatient PT experience.
- At least one 13-week travel assignment in physical therapy.
- Must have inpatient therapy experience, including pediatric outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Strong teamwork skills, adaptability, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant rules and regulations.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Pediatric physical therapy experience for patients from birth to 18 years old.
- EPIC Electronic Medical Record experience (training available on-site).
- Experience working with pediatric and adult patient populations.
