Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms, vascular, abdominal, and pelvic imaging.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure proper preparation of exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and adhering to hospital policies.
  • Interface with electronic medical records, PACS, and other computer systems to document findings accurately.
  • Recognize anatomical abnormalities during procedures and communicate findings effectively to physicians and nursing staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care, including addressing patient fears and supporting patient cooperation throughout procedures.
  • Ensure safety protocols, including use of protective clothing and infection control measures, are followed at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Radiology Technology or related fields, with two years of relevant training.
  • Up to 12 months of prior ultrasound experience in abdominal, pelvic, or vascular imaging.
  • Proficiency in ultrasound techniques, equipment operation, and patient interaction.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and PACS systems.
  • Ability to recognize anatomical abnormalities and adjust equipment accordingly.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and medical staff.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Existing registration as both a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Vascular Technologist.
  • Additional specialty certifications in OB/GYN or Breast ultrasound (ARDMS AB, OB/GYN, B).
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting for at least one year.
