Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit, adhering to department policies and nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for a diverse adult patient population (ages 16 and older).
• Document patient progress and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team using electronic medical records.
• Cover assigned shifts with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Float to other general medical units as needed, maintaining competence across departments.
• Adhere to hospital dress code, maintaining a professional appearance aligned with adult patient care standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working in a hospital or acute care setting.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the adult patient age range.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
