Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement patient care specific to oncology unit patients, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Provide clinical support and direct patient care in accordance with unit policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, maintaining a respectful and considerate approach.
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards, including bloodborne pathogen protocols.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to adapt to patient needs and emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of patient care within an oncology/med-surg setting and age-specific needs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in oncology or related specialized units.
- Familiarity with ACLS certification (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under stress.
