Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, including assessments, medication administration, and basic EKG interpretation.
• Manage care for patients undergoing cardio-thoracic, vascular, and general cardiology procedures.
• Perform dressing changes, utilize electronic charting systems, and operate medical equipment such as IV pumps, epidurals, PCA’s, chest tubes, and wound vacs.
• Monitor and care for step-down critical care patients, including temporary pacers with epicardial wires and bar code medication scanning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a 40-bed telemetry unit.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Current state nursing license.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with electronic charting, Medications systems, and critical care equipment.
• Experience floating between units such as MSICU, MSIMC, CICU, and general med-surg areas.
