Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, Night shift (7 PM - 7 AM), 13-week travel assignment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide independent nursing care to high-acuity emergency department patients, including assessments, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Address emotional, psychological, and social needs of patients and families, delivering patient education and resource identification.
• Make appropriate clinical decisions and delegate tasks to care team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and treatment provided accurately and timely.
• Maintain competency through annual training and orientation requirements, including specialized ED skills and emergency protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Louisiana or a compact license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• De-Escalation (CPI) certification.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care or emergency setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in high-acuity or trauma units.
• Familiarity with emergency protocols for stroke, cardiac, sepsis, wounds, behavioral health, and diabetic cases.
• Ability to manage complex, rapidly changing clinical situations.
