Key Responsibilities
• Perform all cardiac ultrasound (echocardiograms) independently, evaluating possible abnormal heart defects or disease in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Produce high-quality images of the heart to assess hemodynamics and cardiac function, digitally acquiring images and measurements.
• Assist in performing stress and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms, progressing to more independent role with mentorship.
• Apply knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and ultrasound principles to ensure accurate examinations.
• Use clinical judgment during exams to determine the need for additional imaging or bubble studies.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, following all protocols and policies, while documenting exams and communicating test results with physicians and nursing staff.

Required Qualifications
• 1–4 years of inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS/RDCS credential with specialties in AE, FE, or PE, or CCI credential such as RCS or RCCS.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar organization.
• Current NM state licensing and registration in medical imaging or radiation therapy.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Epic electronic health record system experience (training available).
• Ability to perform stress and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms with mentorship.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations related to lab and imaging services.
