Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed acuity unit, including ICU, PCU, and stepdown patients.
• Manage patient treatments such as chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and insulin/heparin drips.
• Monitor for oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndrome while ensuring infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using electronic medical records (EPIC).
• Prioritize patient safety and comfort through vigilant monitoring and timely interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license with Ohio state licensing.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience within a hospital setting.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification.
• Experience with electronic charting systems, preferably EPIC.
• Oncology or surgical unit experience with adult and geriatric populations.

• Staffing ratio generally 1:4, occasionally 1:5.
• Self-scheduling requests accepted—schedule preferences considered during team planning.
• Orientation includes a week of day shifts followed by a 36-hour On-unit orientation with preceptor.
