Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shift, 4 days a week with rotating day off; one weeknight and two weekend days per month for call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in transportation and positioning of patients prior to surgery
• Prepare the operating room and assemble/disassemble instruments and supplies before and after procedures
• Prepare patients and ensure rooms are ready for surgical procedures, including skin preparation and draping
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges
• Apply dressings and bandages as needed
• Collect, handle, and care for specimens during procedures
• Decontaminate instruments and equipment per policies, and ensure proper storage
• Aid in efficient turnover of the operating room to support workflow
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an OR technician program accredited through ARC/STSA, or on-the-job training including military experience as a technician or LPN, dental assistant, ophthalmologist technician, or medical assistant, with evidence of training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or NCCT is preferred but not required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 6 months of technical experience or specialized training, including on-the-job or military training
