Key Responsibilities
- Provide perfusion support for adult open-heart surgeries including CABG, AVR, MVR, Aortic Repairs, Transplants, ECMO, and VADs.
- Support non-cardiac procedures such as liver transplants, HIPEC, ECMO (VV), and autologous blood recovery.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot heart/lung machine and accessory equipment in compliance with hospital policies.
- Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents under physician supervision.
- Perform equipment maintenance, documentation, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with medical team to adjust therapies and ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in policy development, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Connecticut Perfusion License
- Current ABCP Certification
- Current BLS Certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience supporting adult cardiac and non-cardiac procedures
- Proficiency with advanced cardiopulmonary support devices such as Impella, ECMO, and HeartMate
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment with rotating shifts
