Registered Nurse - Stepdown ICU / IMC / PCU

Full-time, Night shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the stepdown ICU, IMC, or PCU units during night shifts.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and react promptly to changes in condition, including telemetry and cardiac assessments.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Document patient care accurately using the facility’s electronic health record system, Epic.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including NIHSS and community hospital requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina or Compact nursing license.
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital nursing experience; 2+ years preferred.
  • Epic experience, telemetry competency, and previous charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Experience in trauma, cardiac telemetry, and community hospital settings is a plus.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between related units or sister facilities.
  • Experience with Epic charting and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently during night shifts.

Note:

  • Local candidates within 60 miles are encouraged to apply; compensation may be adjusted for local hires.
  • RTO (Request for Time Off) must be included at submission; approval is based on facility needs.
  • Guaranteed hours with the ability to be called off one shift every two weeks during the assignment.
  • Hurricane season runs from June to November; candidates should be aware of possible emergency response duties during this period.
