Key Responsibilities

  • Circulate in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) for a busy, teaching hospital.
  • Cover a variety of cases including ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro.
  • Participate in call and weekend rotations; may be required to float to affiliated ambulatory campus.
  • Work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.
  • Maintain compliance with all procedural and safety protocols, including Epic EMR documentation from the past 2 years.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS certification required; CNOR preferred.
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a similar large, teaching hospital setting.
  • General nursing experience with a solid foundation in perioperative care.
  • Circulate experience is mandatory; scrub experience preferred.
  • Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years is non-negotiable.
  • Valid RN license.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Experience with neuro, robotics, and complex surgical procedures.
  • Strong knowledge in orthopedic, ENT, plastics, and general surgery cases.
  • Ability to adapt to a team-oriented environment; excellent communication skills.

Travel & Compensation Notes

  • Travel rate: $115/hour; local rate: $105/hour; radius considerations apply based on mileage.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation; personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires recommended from November to April.
  • The assignment requires working a flexible schedule Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling.
  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions to be attended.
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; thorough work history details are required for submission.
