Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care to adult patients within the inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Managed complex cases including acute coronary syndrome, post-PTCA/stent procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and insulin drips.
  • Float between units as part of the resource float team, adapting to department needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments such as cardiac and insulin drips, start IVs, and post-cardiac cath care.
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital protocols, including documentation in Epic and MAK systems.
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientations and meet all hospital requirements, including certifications and detailed employment history.

Required Qualifications

  • Active NY RN license or proof of application, with application in progress (processing in 6-8 weeks).
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required prior to start.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent telemetry experience.
  • Experience with insulin and cardiac drips, IV placement, and post-cardiac cath care.
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a Level 2 trauma or teaching hospital setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of ventilator management and advanced monitoring preferred.

Additional Notes

  • Must have reliable transportation; public transit is not accessible.
  • Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April.
  • Travelers will be expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • No block scheduling; schedules will be posted bi-weekly.
  • All employment gaps over 90 days should be explained in employment history.
  • Comprehensive documentation, including bed count, facility type, and EMR details, is required for submission.
