Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for orthopedic trauma and med-surg patients on a busy hospital unit.
- Monitor and manage post-surgical and trauma patients, including polytrauma, cervical spine injuries, TBIs, burns, and drains.
- Administer medications such as Heparin and Protonix drips, adhering to hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and safety.
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech EMR.
- Participate in unit huddles and adhere to unit policies and dress code.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
- Current certification in ACLS and BLS.
- Experience with ortho or trauma patient care.
- Ability to work night shifts and weekends as required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience working in orthopedic and trauma units.
- Familiarity with common diagnoses and procedures in med-surg orthopedic trauma settings.
- Team-oriented personality and strong communication skills.
