Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric psychiatric patients in an acute inpatient behavioral health facility.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses per physician orders, including IVs and various medication delivery methods.
  • Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavior management techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Design and implement treatment plans tailored to children and adolescents with various mental health disorders.
  • Document patient observations, care provided, and treatment progress accurately in the electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure compliance with all legal and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or pending license acceptance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
  • Certification in MANDT patient restraint use (or willingness to obtain at Crittenton if not certified).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Completion of Trauma-Informed Care and Zero Suicide training (provided at site).
  • Missouri Children's Division background check clearance.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required; weekend shifts every Sunday night, Friday night, or alternating Fridays.
  • Must be at least 75 miles away from the facility; local candidates not accepted.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience with child/adolescent mental health, eating disorders, forensic, geriatric, or substance abuse treatment.
  • Knowledge of seclusion and restraint protocols, crisis intervention, and emergency cardiac care.
  • Ability to manage patients with diverse psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders, psychosis, trauma-related conditions, and severe intellectual disabilities.
