Special Education Teacher
Primary Purpose: To deliver a high quality educational program that engages students in rigorous and relevant learning opportunities; and to provide differentiated instruction designed to support and challenge students as they maximize their achievement and reach their full potential.
Position Details:
- Location: Auburn, MA
- Salary Range: $53,800-105,500/yearly
- Hours: May vary based on location
- Schedule: May vary based on location
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid MA Dept of Elementary & Secondary Education certification for High School Special Education.
- Ability to perform essential functions, including differentiated instruction, data analysis, and fostering an inclusive classroom.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the Common Core Standards.
- Ability to analyze student performance data and use it to inform instruction.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with varying learning needs.
- Familiarity with current education theories and best practices in special education.
- Proficiency with educational software and data management tools.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high-quality, engaging educational program tailored to students with special needs, incorporating rigorous and relevant learning opportunities.
- Design and implement differentiated instruction to support and challenge students, maximizing their achievement and potential.
- Develop and administer meaningful assessments, analyze student data, and use insights to refine instructional practices.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and fosters student growth.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, community members, and colleagues to support student learning and development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, school improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture.
Work Environment:
- May involve working with students in various settings (classroom, therapy rooms, or outdoor spaces).
- Frequent interaction with parents, staff, and administrators.
