- Full-time, Night shifts, Travel assignment, 13-week duration
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care to patients in the Observation Unit, focusing on neurological and cardiac conditions.
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, including EKG rhythms, and respond to abnormal findings.
- Administer medications, perform procedures such as Foley insertions, glucose monitoring, and dressing changes.
- Utilize equipment such as Alaris Pumps, B450 Monitors, and tele-tracking systems to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech system.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient unit operations and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG rhythm certification.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac or neuro units.
- Proficiency with medical equipment such as Alaris Pumps and telemetry monitors.
- Ability to triage acute care patients and identify life-threatening rhythms.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a neuro or cardiac care setting.
- Comfort with procedures common to stepdown and observation units.
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Meditech or similar systems.
