Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care responsibilities within the telemetry unit, including monitoring ED hold patients and working with critical diagnostics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.
- Work in various medical-surgical specialties, such as oncology, ortho, and urology, in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform unit-specific procedures, including IV insertions, bladder scans, blood draws, and glucose monitoring.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and documentation systems, primarily using EPIC.
- Float to other tele-unit areas as scheduled, with potential to assist in ECC/ER for ED hold patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Valid New York State RN license or proof of application with applied date (processing time of 6-8 weeks considered).
- AHA BLS certification required; CMSRN preferred.
- NIHSS certification prior to starting.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
- Reliable transportation, personal or rental vehicle, with all-season or snow tires during winter months.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with trauma level 2 hospitals.
- Additional certifications related to medical-surgical nursing are a plus.

Additional Information
- Start date: November 17, with a 16- to 32-week assignment.
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day/Eve.
- Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center with 341 beds, serving various adult medical-surgical units.
- Shifts are night hours; specific scheduling to be posted.
- All employment gaps over 90 days should be explained in application.
- Complete work history required, including bed count, EMR, and facility type.
- No public transportation available; reliable personal transportation strongly recommended.
- Dress code: Navy blue and white scrubs, comfortable shoes, minimal jewelry, groomed appearance.
- Device support available 24/7 for respiratory needs.
Note: This role may include covering multiple units (R5, R6, R7) and floating as scheduled, with occasional in ECC/ER for ED hold patients.
