Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit focused on orthopedic spine patients.
• Manage post-operative care for patients undergoing spinal surgeries such as laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies.
• Monitor patient progress, manage pain, facilitate physical therapy, and support mobility.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Cover up to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios, with a typical ratio of 1:5.
• Be prepared to float to other units within Prisma Health as needed, performing tasks aligned with demonstrated competencies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina.
• Strong cardiac care experience.
• Experience with orthopedic spine post-operative patients preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts and holidays as required.
• Must have reliable transportation to work and adaptability to float to different units.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in telemetry and acute care settings.
• Proficiency in pain management and post-surgical patient care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
