Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in a specialized oncology ICC unit, floating between ICC and ED as needed.
- Manage a variety of patient conditions, including hematology, oncology, sickle cell crises, and urgent but stable cases.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize advanced nursing skills to monitor and treat patients with diagnoses such as sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and clinical protocols, including maintaining required certifications.
- Support a team-oriented environment in a smaller, close-knit unit focused on patient discharge and admissions.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of ER nursing experience.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- EPIC electronic medical record system experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in an oncology or ICC setting.
- Ability to adapt to floating between different hospital units and patient populations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to foster a supportive environment.
