Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care to residents in long-term and skilled nursing facilities
- Partner with care team members to create a safe and supportive environment for residents
- Utilize communication techniques suitable for residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s and dementia
- Monitor and manage residents' health conditions, including medication, wound care, and assessments
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and patient care protocols
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (state of Maine or compact license)
- Associates degree in Nursing or higher
- 1-3 years of relevant nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Flexibility to cover 24/7 operations and float to other units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with seniors or in long-term care settings
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors associated with dementia or cognitive impairments
