Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary procedures in accordance with doctors' orders and hospital policies.
- Support patient and family education and comfort during critical care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Periodically float to Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, or Pediatric units as needed.
- Assist with post-operative recovery of general surgery, pediatric, and obstetric patients after hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience.
- Valid, unrestricted RN license to practice nursing in any U.S. state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territories.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association, or must obtain within six months of hire.
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) certification, or must obtain within six months of hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, or must obtain within six months of hire.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments with culturally rich communities.
- Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking skills.
