Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed medical-surgical unit, including private and semi-private rooms.
• Monitor and manage a diverse patient population, primarily stroke, post-operative, and hospice patients.
• Administer medications, including heparin drips, and perform wound care, tube management, and other bedside procedures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure positive outcomes.
• Document patient status and treatments accurately in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, especially for stroke patients and those requiring complex interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week and every other weekend and holiday.
• Certification in stroke care is highly desirable.
• Strong patient assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience managing stroke, post-op, and complex medical patients.
• Knowledge of wound care, high acuity patient management, and heparin protocols.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, diverse clinical environment.
