Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity, high-volume labor and delivery care in a fast-paced environment
- Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, ensuring newborn care including assessments, eye and thigh exams, and administrations of Vit K and other medications
- Monitor and manage maternal and fetal health using electronic fetal monitoring and other procedures in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
- Support postpartum and antepartum patients, with float responsibilities to mother/baby units and related facilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with hospital protocols, including EPIC electronic health records and hard stop requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of recent RN experience in high acuity and high risk labor/delivery settings
- Current license and certification including BLS and NRP; preferred certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Proven experience circulating during labor and delivering newborn care, including assessments, eye/Vit K injections, and interventions such as magnesium sulfate, insulin, and heparin
- Ability to pass clinical review and provide current nursing references, with proof of certifications upon submission
- Active or compact license in good standing; candidates from any other non-Swedish Providence facility with at least 3 months separation are eligible for travel contracts
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 years of high-risk labor and delivery experience
- Experience supporting midwifery clients, private OBs, substance recovery, and community care clinics
- Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC electronic health records
