Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess recovery progress to ensure safe and effective recovery.
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient status and care provided in medical records accurately.
- Respond promptly to any complications or emergencies during recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to facility protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of West Virginia.
- At least 1 year of ICU experience.
- Proven skills in both ICU and PACU settings.
- Completion of ICU and PACU skills assessment prior to submission.
- Ability to work days and participate in an on-call rotation every other weekend.
- Must have current competencies and certifications relevant to critical care and post-anesthesia recovery.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital setting with adult patient populations.
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
